Well I'm not doing monthly updates on my baby girl anymore, now that she's over one year old!!!! But I'm going to still update on cute/funny/crazy things she does! That was the best part of her monthly updates anyway.....I'll skip all the sleeping/eating/every little detail.....and just get to the good stuff!!!!! ha. And I might not update EVERY month. But knowing me most likely I will, unless I'm too busy. Because I never ever want to forget how she is right now!!! She's growing and changing so fast, and I just love her so much and want to remember how stinking cute she was :)
Here is some cute things MJ's been doing/did this month:
-spins in circles! (fell and hit her head a couple times)
-when we lay on the floor, she loves to climb on us and straddle/sit on us :)
-picks out books to read and brings them to us :) when I'm done reading a book I'll give it to her and a lot of the time she'll give it right back for me to read again.
-Shares everything (holds it out to us)......doesn't mean it a lot of the time.
-Sesame street is her favorite show! it's so fun to watch her watch it :)
-"hi" is her favorite word, says hi to almost everyone she sees. or at least waves.
-working on going down stairs! still doesn't quite get it, but loves crawling up stairs, and climbing onto anything fairly low to the ground.
- grew 3 more teeth this month! now has 7 teeth and her big smile is cuter then ever!
- loves to hum, move her voice up and down (I think she'll be a singer)
-loves when you hum back
-When Grandma Suzanne was babysitting, MJ was wearing a dress and took a nap and when grandma went to get her, her dress was up over her head, but still on her arms....It was too big for her.....and her diaper was all the way off!!! That's the first time she's pulled it off on her own, and hopefully the last ;)
-MJ says "no" to the dogs, well not "No" but a mean sounding noise "eh" or something, complete with arm motion!!! Does it when they are in her face too much, or barking.
Well that's all for this month!!!

update - Trudging along
Well I've had a few days of little to no exercise, other they my daily yoga (which the past few days has consisted of a lot of forward bends, gentle twists, shoulder/neck rolls, and restoration/relaxing poses) ......and lots of unhealthy eating!
I've been eating too much heavy gross foods that make me want to lay in bed all day. I haven't been wanting to leave the house or go outside, even for a walk.
But I haven't ate any cookies, Icecream or candy bars! :) Even though I want to!
I am very tired! I haven't been able to fall asleep until 1 or 2 in the morning each night, and even if I get 8 hours of sleep, I'm just so tired!!!
My body's sore, but not in a "I've worked out a lot" good way, but in a deep/sad/exhausted type of way....
I haven't been drinking enough water! (but at least I haven't been drinking much beer either! except that one night...)
Well now that I've admitted that I haven't been doing or feeling so swell, Today I'm going to start over and try to feel better!!!
To feel better, I have to make better choices!!!
Here are my eating/exercising plans:
Eat better! (fruits, veggies, whole grains, NOT a lot of frozen dinner type foods, or foods I like with Ranch (pizza and fries)
Track my food better/ don't eat too much!
Don't eat past 8!
Drink tons of water throughout the day, and stop drinking a lot at 8.
Go to bed at 10 or 10:30! (read and meditate until 11 or 11:30 then fall asleep!!!!) This one's been hard!!!!
Start doing my Bikini body mommy workouts again (I stopped doing them at day 45, so I'm half way done!!!!!)
Walk every evening that I can
continue with my 40 days of yoga!!! I'm on day 11!!! (I'm going to update on that soon - because I have big plans)

mmm water
Have I ever told you how much I love water?
Well I do.
It's sooo good for you! especially if you are active like me! :)
Especially if you drink coffee, soda, or beer!
Drink 8-10 glasses a day!!!
Just do it!
Did I tell you that myfitnesspal.com has a little water glass that you can add a cup to every time you drink one, it will count how many glasses you've had in a day!!!! So you don't have to estimate!
And it will remind you to keep drinking water!
mmm, I'm going to drink a glass right now!!!

conscious eating
Well I started tracking calories, something I've NEVER done! I use myfitnesspal.com. It's not perfect, but it's free and easy! I use it because I want a visual perspective on what I'm putting into my body.
I know I have a lot of changes to make in my eating habits. I read a lot (not A LOT, but I like to be informed) about what is in what foods, what's good for me and what's not. I want to eat healthier, and slowly but surely I am!!!
Something that is helping my sweets craving at night (when I crave sweets the most) is banana with peanut butter! It's a good alternative for a dessert, and for some reason it curbs my cravings. (I have gone 13 days with no bad sweets!!!)
I also try to make sure I eat fruits and veggies everyday.
A couple of times a week I have a smoothie with frozen fruit, and whatever other fruit I have & feel like, protein mix, ground flax seeds, Kale and/or Spinach. I like trying different mixes, sometimes with Greek yogurt, honey, almond milk, or peanut butter. Just whatever I feel like!
Evenings are my munchies time, so if I don't watch myself I'll munch out too much! which is why I like the calorie tracker! I usually think about what I'll have for lunch/dinner before I eat, and then I put it in the calorie tracker and I'll know how many calories I have left, if I can munch out more or if that's good for the day!
Can you believe how many calories is in cheese, ranch and butter???? OMG I didn't think about it too hard before, I knew they were bad for me, but seriously, I don't want to be wasting my calories on those foods everyday!
Also when I work out I can track it on myfitnesspal.com and they'll give me more calories!
It's been successful so far, and every day I've eaten/drank under my calorie limit!!! (except today, when I had a big McDonald's cheeseburger (without the bun) and I plan on eating my dad's dutch oven potatoes (with lots of cheese) and drinking a few tonight! :D But one day a week of over eating is better then doing it every day!
If you want to join me on my mission of healthier eating, add me on myfitnesspal.com and we can help support each other!!! My username is ALRosenk
Good luck!

If you don't like doing yoga....
But want to !!! I suggest:
1. focus on your BREATH more then the poses.
2. If a pose feels good, spend time doing that pose! and do #1.
3. practice meditation (breathing exercises) as well as doing yoga, everyday.
4. Practice gratitude everyday.
5. If yoga seems too hard, Slow down! (this goes back to #1)
6. If yoga seems too boring, then try a new class or teacher.
7. If you have injuries, focus more on stuff you CAN do, and do whatever feels good.
......After I had MJ it took me months to be able to do stuff I do now. Even in downward dog, my lower belly would hurt so I'd go down to all fours and focus on my breath and my core.
8. Love yourself!
9. Stretch right before bed
10. Stretch right when you wake up

40 days of yoga
That is my new yoga goal. Ha, I know I usually quit or delay most of my yoga goals......my sun salutation Fridays kind of went down the drain, and I still haven't done all of the videos in the yoga challenge I tried to do last month.
I debated about posting my goal or not, but it might help motivate me!
My goal is to do yoga, every single day, on my mat, for at least 15 minutes! and write about it in my yoga journal! :)
My side goal is to meditate every night RIGHT before bed for at least 10 minutes.
If I succeed in 40 days of yoga, I'm going to buy myself The book that inspired the goal.
Wish my luck!!! 2 days down, 38 to go!

Summer WILL POWER goals
After Beerfest on June 1 I decided to quit drinking alcohol for the rest of the month! This was hard for me because I usually casually drink a couple of times a week! Well I have been doing it more then that since school got out! Drinking makes me not want to workout as much, it is so many calories, plus costs a lot! So I decided to take a break and get in shape!!! And it's going good, I don't want to drink as much, and I can be around people who are drinking without wanting to now!...... I did pretty good at staying sober, except June 21....But even drinking that once, I decided I'm not a complete failure and I continued my goal for the rest of the month and beyond.
In July, not only am I not going to drink much alcohol, but I decided to quit unhealthy sweets and refined sugars! This is going to be much much harder for me then quitting alcohol.......I LOVE sweets. I love my desserts.....Ok I guess I kind of failed already with my tiramisu pancake from I-hop a couple of days ago....woops! ha, But I'll keep trying:) I want to be healthier!
I've already turned down a square ice-cream cone after our hike, homemade brownies, Albertson's cookies, and I haven't given in to my cravings of the mint chocolate chip ice cream cones in my Parent's freezer! So I think I'm doing pretty good!!!
Wish me luck :)
